Claude now asks before it force-pushes

Hi there. Four changes this week that you will actually notice.

Risky git commands now need your yes. When you asked Claude to commit and open a pull request, it used to run things like force pushes and rewrites on its own. Now it stops and asks first. Those are the commands that can quietly erase work, so this is a good one to know about.

Long answers stopped garbling. Long replies were sometimes half disappearing as they printed, or showing up twice. That is fixed. If you have been squinting at a chopped up response wondering what you missed, it was not you.

A narrow terminal no longer crashes the session. If your terminal window was skinny, a table or a progress bar could take the whole thing down, sometimes right as you tried to pick up an old session. Now it just draws the thing.

Windows: Claude can find git again. If you started Claude Code from a folder sitting above where git was installed, it would insist git was not there. Fixed. No reinstalling software you already have.

• "Prompt is too long" errors now explain why, instead of only telling you to run /compact.
• In VS Code, you can group your sessions in the sidebar and drag the side question panel wider.
